The internet singing sensation from Taiwan garnered much buzz for his Susan Boyle-like modest appearance and unbelievably amazing voice.
He’s stepping out from being the internet viral video king, and is making the rounds on US talk shows this week, starting with his debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday (April 21).
Last night, Lin Yu Chun paid a visit to Lopez Tonight where he performed a weird, but sorta awesome, duet of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with William Shatner.

Actually, his name should be Yu-Chun Lin.
That’s not what he goes by…
He has a better voice than Susan Boyle. He should release an album around Christmas. It would sell like hot cakes.
Lin is his last name and Yu-Chun is his given name (that is, the first name of the Western World. There is no middle name in Eastern Asia.) In Eastern Asia (China, Japan, Korea), people put the last name before the first name.

Both Shatner and Lin are great! You can tell by hearing how the audience warmly responded to them. I missed watching the show last night, so I am very glad I can see it here now (and later, again and again)! As to the clip on Ellen Show, the Mandarin-English translator has done a great job too! Also, very refreshing to see young talents from Asia to perform on such popular talk shows in the United State, meanwhile American audience are very enthusiastic and supportive!

So each and every talent or genius are our asset. Some of them like Susan Boyle,Lin Yu Chun are unpolished precious stone need to be polished by exparts to become a shining star.Expect too much from them is a pressure for them. They also have to learn how to cope with pressure.As they are not professional yet,they should not expose too much let them settle down and prepare for the professional show!

His depth of emotion when performing marks him as a great singer. Considering this is his first TV performance in America, he shows remarkable poise. I hope he doesn’t bend to popular opinion about his appearance– the bowl-cut hair and bow tie can be his “trademark”.
