It wasn’t a complete wash for Justin Bieber fans in Australia hoping to catch the Canadian sensation perform on the breakfast show Sunrise Monday morning (April 26). Despite police initially canceling Bieber’s entire concert on the show due to safety concerns, he was allowed to perform one song inside the show’s studios.

The song he chose was his smash hit “Baby” from his new album, My World 2.0. Bieber and his dancers made the most of the situation and had fun even though they were unable to interact with the monstrous crowd still waiting outside for some Bieber affection.

For any Aussie fans still not happy with the one song consolation prize, no worries. Justin promises to be back to tour very soon.

Having a masters degree in Justice and Security administration and 7 years experience in the field I think it odd that organizers keep underestimating the size of Justin’s fan base. There was a similar incident here in the US concerning a mall autograph session which also had to be canceled by police. If you watch vidio of his concerts there is never room to breathe in the audiences. Organizers needs to start putting limits on those allowed in. I can’t believe these places are following fire codes when it comes to room occupancy. When it comes to outdoor concerts you have to set up clusters where only so many people are allowed to be at a time. It’s like setting up levels in a theater with strictly monitored aisles so that EMS personnel can get through when necessary. Anyone not obeying security or police is removed. U2 and Pink and others mentioned by the news station in Australia that they’ve also provided concerts for are and never were as big as Justin Bieber. Those groups have very specific fan bases of more mature ages. Justin Bieber’s fans are of a much less mature age group (for the most part) and need much more guidance and adult supervision. No parents or adult supervision…no entrance into the concert.

I’ll also add that based on other video of injuries he’s sustained from excited fans makes me very concerned for his safety. He’s been plowed over quite a few times in situations that really could have been avoided if security were a little tighter around him. The arm injury in Paris could have been very easily avoided by making sure that Justin remained 4ft from the rail at all times. This way if it gets pushed forward like it did, he would have had time to react. But this isn’t Justin fault. He can’t be expected to stay focused on these kinds of concerns when he’s trying to satisfy his fans. It’s why security needs to be keeping a better eye out and when there is a potential danger you casually put a hand on his shoulder and guide him a few steps to a safer distance. He could sign autographs and such in passing, but he needs someone right at his shoulder at all times tunnel visioned on those closest to him. Others a little further away should be paying more attention to what’s going on in the general area. There is always risk, but some of this should have been avoidable.
