That Xtina vs Lady Gaga stuff? Christina Aguilera is not amused.
The pop star, who is set to release her new album, Bionic, on June 8, is sick and tired of the fan wars and has released a statement to put it all to an end.
Christina writes on her official website today (May 17): “I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…. I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that.
There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods.
This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter.”
The latest round of Xtina/Gaga drama comes courtesy of Xtina’s interview in OUT Magazine, where she reportedly refers to Gaga as a “newcomer” who is “really fun to look at.”

Perez looks ridiculous with his over reaction and he’s making Gaga look like she thinks like he does, which is pathetic. If I were Gaga I would tell Perez to STFU. The other thing is, OUT magazine is known to write crap articles to try and get readers because they’re going bankrupt.

Let us believe X-tina, not ! Not a fan of Gaga or X-tina, but Lady Gaga’s arrival couldn’t have been more perfect. I was an X-tina fan for years, but the minute she opened her mouth about Lady Gaga late last year was enough for me to believe that she was intimidated by the alternative pop singer for many reasons. Gaga was using the mainstream pop label to swoon over the dark cabaret and new-wave symbolism and package it up as pop. There have been many dark-wave, trip-hop and gothic-type artists in our musical history, but not one has ever taken the underground, mixed it all together and packaged it as commercial pop. I found it quite hilarious actually ! It’s no wonder that many underground singers and artists are angry with Gaga for this simple reason, yet they keep that REAL reason a secret. X-tina may have done a little experimenting from time to time with image and sound, but nevertheless most of her credit with image is due to drag queen make-up artists and bizarre designers hired by her record label who have urged her to step it up. It has become blatantly obvious that X-tina is very nervous about this Gaga. In fact, Lady Gaga has borrowed from artists too, but the difference is that Lady Gaga has borrowed from 50-60 artists per se and has cached all of them up into a science fiction creation, Where as X-tina might have borrowed from 2 or 3. X-tina’s new album is called Bionic, go figure ! LOL ! We’re in the year 2010, and everybody from Disney Pop to Mainstream Metal has cashed in on this electro-pop phase, not anything original to do now. It’s all about the trends, and X-tina is certainly following those trends, and certainly not starting any that hasn’t already been done before. Hats go off to Gaga for being the more original thief of hearts !
