Ne-Yo - Beautiful Monster
“Love can be a gift… and a curse.”
That’s the tag line singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is using to promote his new single, “Beautiful Monster,” from his forthcoming film/album, Libra Scale.
Apparently, Ne-Yo will take the gift and the curse happily. “She’s a monster. Beautiful monster. But I don’t mind,” he sings on the track’s chorus.
Produced by Ne-Yo’s longtime collaborating pals StarGate, the dark-yet-dancey “Beautiful Monster,” says Ne-Yo, “embodies a portion of a story that the music on the album is inspired by.”
The Grammy-winner is taking a cinematic approach to his fourth album, which follows up 2008′s Year of the Gentlemen. The songs and videos on Libra Scale will all tie together, and one mysterious love interest/villain by the name of Diamond Eyes will be at the center of them all.
Libra Scale is due out September 21.
