Singer Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough were named the winners of Dancing With the Stars’ 10th season.
During last night’s (May 25) DWTS season finale, Nicole faced competition from finalists, ESPN sports reporter Erin Andrews and Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek. Andrews and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were the first pair eliminated, leaving Nicole and Evan to dance for additional judges points to help determine the winner.
Performing their final dances of the season, Nicole and Derek took on the Jive while Evan and partner, Anna Trebunskaya, performed the quickstep. Scherzinger and Hough walked away with a perfect 30, bringing their finals total to 115. Lysacek and Trebunskaya’s quickstep earned the pair an additional 28 points, bringing their tally to 108 points combined with Monday night’s score.
The Pussycat Dolls lead singer has been a season favorite, hailed by judge Carrie Ann Inaba, as the best contestant ‘Dancing’ has seen.
It would have been so incredible to see Erin Andrews win the whole thing. She has been so gracious and fun to watch throughout the whole show. I never rooted for Nicole or Evan since they had such a large advantage and bigger than life ego over Erin. Erin has overcome so much this year and to learn to love, laugh again and dance like she dances with Maks should have made her the front runner and will disappoint so many of the fans….trust me.
Nicole is stunning and they totally deserved the win IMO as their dancing has been excellent throughout the competition.
