John Mayer can’t shake his heartbreaker ways, not even for a music video.
In the clip for “Half of My Heart” from his latest album, Battle Studies, the crooner is a runaway groom who leaves his would-be wife at the altar. While she’s left to wipe the embarrassment from her face and pack up her unused dress, a regretful Mayer knocks back a few drinks at a bar.
There’s no wedding for Mayer in the video, and there’s also no Taylor Swift — who is featured on the song — for her fans to gawk at. Swift’s no-show doesn’t make or break the video, though. It’s the story and Mayer’s almost too honest performance that really sells it.
This video has a mistake. The Mother is wiping the car before she left the church.
