Chris Brown’s ‘Virginia Stand Up’ Concert Raises $50K For Charity

With the recent news of the forced cancellation of his UK tour due to the denial of his work visa, bad news seems to be piling up for Chris Brown. But finally there’s good news.

The numbers are in and Brown’s ‘Virginia Stand Up: A Call To Action’ benefit concert, which was held last month at the Virginia Commonwealth University’s Siegel Center in Richmond, raised an impressive $50,000 for its charity partners, The American Red Cross, Greater Richmond Chapter and The Central Virginia Food Bank.

The funds raised will help fight hunger in Brown’s hometown and assist in the on-going relief efforts in earthquake-ravaged Haiti.

“I love performing in my home state of Virginia and appreciate the community for giving me a chance to help out Virginia and people who are dealing with these tough times,” Brown, who presented the organizations with checks personally, said in a statement. “I appreciate all of the recording artists who performed for this cause and gave it their all.”

The event’s other performers included Trey Songz, Keri Hilson, Ryan Leslie, Bow Wow, Mario, and T-Pain.
