Maroon 5 - Chris Wray-McCann
How misleading. Maroon 5‘s latest single is called “Misery,” but the funky guitar rifts that wash over the song and its perfect sing-a-long chorus won’t leave any room for listeners to feel miserable.
The up-tempo groove will have fans happily repeating the vengeful lyrics, written by frontman Adam Levine and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael: “Girl, you really got me bad, you really got me bad/And I’m gonna get you back, I’m gonna get you back.”
“Misery,” M5′s first single from their new album, Hands All Over, is another insanely catchy tune to add to their collection of tracks that seamlessly blend pop, rock, soul, and funk. It’s reminiscent of their earlier works from their debut album, Songs About Jane, and that’s no coincidence — it was actually their goal when they went into a studio in Switzerland with producer Mutt Lange.
Hands All Over is in stores on September 21.
