Video: Kanye West Opens 2010 BET Awards With “Power” Performance

Kanye West

Ladies and gentlemen, Kanye West is back in the building.

Kanye gave one of his first televised performances since his self-imposed hiatus nearly a year ago when the rapper opened the 2010 BET Awards tonight (June 27).

Perched on top of a mountain in the middle of the stage, the rap megastar performed his new single, Power, for the first time on television. While wearing an enormous (and sometimes distracting) chain around his neck,  he sounded confident and strong as images of various landscapes flashed behind him.

Kanye is the first performer to hit the stage for the big show. Other artists schedule to perform for the BET Awards 10th anniversary show includes Usher, Alicia Keys, Drake and more.
