There’s something missing on the artwork for Ciara‘s new album, titled Basic Instinct. Unlike the super sexy, too-hot-for-BET video for her single Ride, the album cover is very…basic.
On the cover, released today (July 8), Ciara looks straight into the camera, her hair moved over to one side with one eye covered by her flowing hair. Her face is pretty much expressionless and besides some nice make-up and a quick glance at some jewelry, there really isn’t much more to it.
Maybe the fairly straight forward cover was on purpose. Ciara seems to want her fans and critics to focus on her music. She’s even rushing the new music out earlier for the world to hear. Basic Instinct, originally scheduled for release on August 24, will be released a week earlier on August 17.
Exactly how it needs to be…it’s her best cover. All of them fit what she was going for

Less is DEFINITELY more in Ciara’s case. The cover is gorgeous.
