Nicki Minaj pulled out of touring with Rihanna, but she has no problem copying her marketing scheme.
The wig-loving rapper has announced the release date of her long-awaited still-untitled debut album in a cryptic message on Twitter.
“Yes. It’s time. November 23rd,” she tweeted today (July 8).
Rihanna announced the release date for her now-platinum album Rated R in the same fashion last October. Coincidentally, Nicki and Rihanna’s albums are being released exactly one year apart.
Minaj was supposed to open for Rihanna’s ‘Last Girl On Earth’ summer tour, but dropped herself off of the bill soon after the tour’s announcement, citing her wish to further work on her album as the reason.
Nicki’s album will include her first single “Massive Attack” featuring Sean Garrett, and her Billboard rap chart No. 1 hit “Your Love.”

Rihanna has six number ones on the hot 100 which is the chart that counts towards an artist’s legacy. Telephone peaked at number 3. It was number 1 on the pop charts which is not the chart of charts. If you counted the pop charts then Rihanna would have more than 6 number ones.
