Eminem And Rihanna To End Katy Perry’s Reign — But Not This Week

No one likes to see best friends fight, but this chart battle has been interesting.
Katy Perry sizzling summer single, “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg, earns another week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week, making its top spot tally six consecutive weeks. But the end is near as Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie,” featuring Perry’s BFF, Rihanna, is slated to take over next week.
“Love The Way You Lie” sits at No. 2, but, as Billboard.com notes, earns the title of greatest airplay gainer for a second straight week. Combined with its healthy digital sales (314,000 copies last week), it’s a surefire No. 1.
Hitting No. 1 with “Love The Way You Lie” will give Eminem his fourth No. 1 single, Rihanna her seventh.
