Taylor Swift fans patiently waiting for solid album news got that and more when the country darling held an online chat today (July 20). During the Ustream chat, a visibly excited Taylor revealed her new album, titled Speak Now, will be in stores October 25th.
The singer says the album’s title has a special meaning. “That [the title] pertains to the album as a concept and as an entire theme of the record more than I can even tell you,” Taylor said after revealing the album name. “I’ve been working on it for two years. Ever since we put out Fearless, I’ve been writing for this record and sort of conceptualizing it and putting it together in my head as to what I wanted it to be.”
Like Taylor’s other popular songs, the album’s tracks will tell a story. She says each track will act as a confession to a different person in her life. “Track by track, each song is a different confession,” she said.
Along with the album news, Swift revealed the set’s first single, “Mine,” will be out in August.
“The song is about my tendency to kind of run away from love,” Swift says of the song. “Every really direct example of love that I’ve had in front of me has ended in goodbye and has ended in breakups and things like that. So I think I’ve developed this pattern of sort of running away when it comes time to fall in love and stay in a relationship. This song is about sort of finding the exception to that and finding someone who would make you believe in love and realize that it could work out.”
The video for “Mine” was recently shot in Maine.
