It’s Demi Lovato‘s birthday!
That’s right. Today (August 20), the singer/actress celebrates her birthday and it’s a big one: Demi turns 18!
In a few short years, Demetria Lovato has gone from a relatively unknown actress to an actress with her own Disney Channel show, the star of a successful Disney movie franchise and a singer able to tour the world with two stellar albums under her belt. And those are only a few of her accomplishments.
While Demi celebrates being another year older and officially legal, we want to celebrate all the things we think makes her truly awesome. Here are 5 reasons why Demi is our favorite Disney chick.
1. That girl can SANG!: Don’t let the Disney affiliation fool you, this girl has a set of pipes on her! She can take on a ballad and belt it out or subtly evoke emotion.
2. Her dancing ain’t too shabby either: Demi set the internet on fire with a little dance routine she cooked up for her 17th birthday. She popped, locked and dropped it with the best of them to Ester Dean and Chris Brown’s Drop It Low, completely slaying her competition without even trying.
3. We follow some of the same awesome people on Twitter: We’d like to think that we follow some of the most awesome people on Twitter and if you follow them too, that makes you super awesome. Thanks to Twitter’s new “you both follow” tool, we’ve learned that Demi is super awesome because she also follows David Archuleta, Drake, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson and Justin Bieber.
4: Brunette or blonde, she’s a stunner: A versatile chick, is an awesome chick and Demi definitely fits the bill. She can go from super dark brown locks to honey colored and still look fiercer than most.
5. She’s an awesome big sister: She may be busy traveling the world but Demi’s never too busy to show love to and support her little sister, Madison. She regularly takes to her Twitter account to post how much she loves her little sis, tweet encouraging words to her and even defend her against cruel people.
She’s gorgeous. And talented. To be honest? Like most stars, she’s a self absorbed, selfish young person desperate for great stardom. I find her pretty boring. I wish her well. I really do. I also hope she learns and remembers some humility.
I remember that video when Demi was dropping it low for her 17th Birthday. I loved her before but I really loved her after that cuz it was so unexpected. I never imagined Demi Lovato could Drop It Low lol. Happy Birthday Demi(even though im a few days late)!
