Neon Limelight’s 24 Essential Albums Of 2010

Drake – Thank Me Later: If you haven’t thanked Drizzy yet, you may want to get on it. This rap newcomer set the game on fire in 2009–before he even had a record deal! He continued blazing the trail for his bright future in 2010 with the release of his highly anticipated debut album. Oh, and it’s good, real good. Thank him now.

Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday: After hanging it up (flatscreen!) for a minute, female rap re-entered the music scene thanks to the very, very animated and colorful Nicki Minaj. Though the true greatness of her debut set is the topic of many heated debates, you can’t deny the impact this bubbly, sometimes insane chick had on the year.

B.o.B – B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray: 2010 welcomed a new hit-making rapper to the block. Sure, his voice is a little similar to one we all know and love but B.o.B’s a different dude and his debut reflects that. He has representations of nearly every genre on this exciting first album, there’s no wonder he’s scored multiple No. 1s already.
