Beyoncé Makes Official Return With “Run The World (Girls)”

A heavily-tagged version of Beyoncé‘s new single, officially titled “Run The World (Girls),” hit the internet last week, but it turns out that version was an unfinished cut.

Today, the final edit of the song is here for you to shake your money-maker in a onesie to. The official single cover is also here for you to ogle and drool over.

Our overall observation of the Major Lazer-sampling track is the same. We dig it. It’s got all the bells and whistles needed to be a radio smash for the warm weather seasons, and is sprinkled with a heavy dose of girl power. But the final edition is also much busier, production-wise. There’s so much going on, it’s hard to rest on one sound. But maybe that’s the point. Bey wants to keep you on your toes. If that really is the plan, mission is so totally accomplished.

“Girls,” penned by The-Dream, leads Beyoncé’s as-yet-untitled fourth album, tentatively set for a summer release.
