Katy Perry Returns To No. 1, Adele Rolls To No. 2 On Billboard Hot 100

Katy Perry

After being displaced for a week by her BFF Rihanna, Katy Perry is back on top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with her latest single, “E.T.”

The track, which also features Kanye West, reclaims the top spot, its fifth nonconsecutive week there, after a sharp rise in digital download sales. “E.T.” sold a whopping 344,000 downloads last week, Billboard reports. That sum could easily be attributed to Katy and Kanye’s out-of-this-world performance of the song on last Thursday’s American Idol results show.

Last week’s No. 1, Rihanna’s “S&M,” tumbles to No. 4 as Adele‘s “Rolling In The Deep” leaps to a new peak of No. 2, and the Black Eyed Peas stay put at No. 3.

The chart’s other big story belongs to Bruno Mars, whose “The Lazy Song” enters the top 10 at No. 6, making it the singer/songwriter’s fifth top 10 single.

This week’s top 10 singles:

  1. Katy Perry featuring Kanye West – E.T.
  2. Adele – Rolling In The Deep
  3. Black Eyed Peas – Just Can’t Get Enough
  4. Rihanna featuring Britney Spears – S&M
  5. Jeremih featuring 50 Cent – Down On Me
  6. Bruno Mars – The Lazy Song
  7. Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull – On The Floor
  8. Chris Brown featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne – Look At Me Now
  9. Ke$ha – Blow
  10. Cee-Lo Green – F**k You
