American Idol Results: No Saving Casey Abrams This Time

Casey Abrams - Fox

There was no saving Casey Abrams this time around.

The 20-year-old favorite with a fondness of jazz and growling was eliminated from American Idol last night after receiving the lowest amount of votes.

It was the second time Casey’s name was called for elimination from the competition. The week Idol was supposed to choose the top 10 finalists to compete and head out on the summer tour, Casey received the lowest amount of America’s votes, but was spared thanks to the judges’ sole save.

After being saved, Casey enjoyed overwhelmingly positive critiques from the judges.  His performance of “Hi De Ho” on Wednesday night’s Carole King-themed show was no different. Each judge lauded his musicianship and ability to choose songs that work for his style.

Casey seemed content with how far he got in the competition and took his elimination well. (According to Ryan Seacrest, after the show, Casey told the audience his goal was to make it into the top six.)

For his swan song, Casey gave one last hammy performance of “I Put A Spell On You.”

Five singers remain: James Durbin, Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, and Jacob Lusk.
