Beyoncé Gets Patriotic, Charitable With “God Bless The USA” Cover

Seems the recent demise of Osama bin Laden has renewed Beyoncé‘s sense of patriotism.

The Grammy-winning superstar is releasing a cover of  “God Bless The USA,” according to CNN journalist Piers Morgan, who revealed the news in a series of tweets today (May 5).

B’s cover will be premiered exclusively on Morgan’s CNN show tonight at 9pm EST, and be available to purchase on iTunes “as soon as Friday,” Morgan says.

Proceeds from the single sales will go to the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.

Beyoncé’s version of “God Bless The USA,” which Morgan described as “stunning,” was originally recorded in 2008 for the Obama campaign but never released.
