Pia Toscano is Interscope Record’s newest artist.
The former American Idol season 10 contestant, who was shockingly voted off the popular talent search competition show, has landed a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Interscope Records.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family,” Pia said in a statement, officially announcing the news. “Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I’m looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true.”
Interscope is the home of stars like Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Lady GaGa.
Along with announcing the official news of her signing, Interscope revealed that Pia’s debut single will be released July 12. The song, titled This Time, is penned by certified hit-maker Ester Dean. Dean has written smash singles for Rihanna, Katy Perry and Chris Brown.
