New Video: Paramore Try To Escape The Music Industry “Monster”

Paramore in "Monster"

If anyone expected Paramore‘s first video as a trio to be a lighthearted clip celebrating the fact that despite the (somewhat ugly) exit of founding members Josh and Zac Farro, they’re still a band and still rocking, they’ve got another thing coming.

In the video for “Monster,” Paramore’s first official musical offering as a trio (and what we surmised is a thinly veiled ode to the brothers), the band is trapped in two different but connecting scenarios. In one, they’re stuck in a run-down room, trying to bash their way out as they perform the song. In the other, they’re scattered about a rattled hospital. As the hospital starts rattle again, each member tried to make their way out. They’re reunited as they try to escape and end up in the very room they were trying to bash their way out of in the other scenario.

So, what does it all mean? We can’t be certain, but we kinda see it the same way MTV does; it’s a dark look at the never-ending cycle of build-them-up then break-them-down in the music industry. Can they stop this monster from eating them alive? Or have they already? Check out the video for “Monster” below:

“Monster” is taken from the Transformers: Dark Of The Moon soundtrack, out now.
