5 Videos MTV Should Nominate For 2011 VMAs

Prepare yourselves. The nominations for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will be announced tomorrow (July 20). Fans, stans, music bloggers, and critics alike are just waiting to see who gets to tell their mom they could be winning a moon man and who will walk away snubbed. There’s no way Kanye West won’t grab up a bunch of nominations. And Lady Gaga, she’s gotta be a front-runner.

We’re so uber-excited that we’ve compiled a list of the five videos MTV better give nominations to. In no way are we saying these are the absolute best videos of the year. What we’re saying is that for all the work that went into them, for the messages they convey, for the stunning visuals, for the undeniable team-ups, for the unadulterated pop fun, these videos deserve to be recognized.

As always, feel free to let us know what your five are. Enjoy ours!

  1. I totally agree with the first part of this article, Rihanna definitely deserves noms for Man Down. Man Down, to me was the video of the year, it was brilliant. Apart from the story line which was brave of Rihanna, Rihanna’s acting skills were impeccable and it looked so real. When I saw Man Down for the first time, I got chills from start to finish. This video is amazing and deserves recognition….positive recognition. If MTV snubs this video, I’ll be done with them just like I’m over BET.
