Adele‘s heard your jokes. You know, the ones about how her video for “Rolling In The Deep” didn’t deserve to be nominated for any MTV Video Music Awards because all she did was sit in a chair.
Well, the British soul singer is taking the jabs in stride. She posted a blog on her official website responding to her whopping seven nominations, including Best Female Video and Video Of The Year, and made a sly joke of her own.
“Flabbergasted about the VMA nominations!! Thank you thank you MTV! I’m thinking about releasing a range of chairs to celebrate!” she wrote.
She included a photo of herself having a laugh and, what else, sitting in a chair. Rolling in her seat, indeed.
She went on to give a shout out to Sam Brown, the director of “Rolling In The Deep,” and say she’s excited about the performances. “If [they're] anything like the last couple years its gonna be so exciting.” No word yet on whether or not Adele plans to take the stage at the show, going down on August 28.
As previously reported, Katy Perry leads the 2011 VMA nominations with nine, while Adele ties with Kanye West with seven.
