Keri Hilson has landed herself in hot water with grieving Amy Winehouse fans.

The singer posted a picture of herself and a fan dressed in signature Winehouse attire, complete with black beehive and thick eye-liner. Soon after posting, the picture’s comments filled with angry fans saying it was “disrespectful” and “immature.”

While some fans were upset by the photo itself, others were more turned off by the caption that Keri included. “*gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance),” Keri wrote under the photo.

Noticing the harsh reactions, Keri followed up by saying she meant no harm and thought the girl’s dress-up act was “the best tribute ever.” She later offered a formal apology, saying: “I apologize 2 anyone who might’ve taken it the wrong way. As a fan, I thought it was cool that she dressed up to honor Amy. I had no ill intent, but I understand how it appears insensitive…my bad twitterville. For real. Good night :)”

Amy Winehouse died in her London home on July 23. She was just 27 years old.
