Video: Adam Lambert Debuts New Song, “Outlaws Of Love,” At Quebec Concert

Even though Adam Lambert is still hard at work finishing up his sophomore album, he’s giving fans a sneak preview of the epicness he has in store on the new set.

Our favorite guy liner-loving glam god debuted a new song, titled “Outlaws Of Love,” that he says will indeed be on the new album, at a concert last night (July 29) in Ste. Agathe, Quebec.

“In all the things I’ve been talking about over the past year, a lot of them boiled down to acceptance,” Adam told the crowd as he introduced the song. “This is the song that I wrote about how it feels that no matter where you go or where you turn, sometimes it feels like you’re just running from the law.”

A gentle rock guitar rift begins the song as that gorgeously tender voice of Adam’s sings the heartfelt lyrics. “Everywhere we go, we’re looking for the sun/Nowhere to grow old, we’re always on the run/They say we’ll rot in hell, but I don’t think we will/They’ve branded us enough/Outlaws of love.”

After the second chorus, Adam takes his time going up and down the scale of his vocal range, before revving up the final chorus to include a breathtaking high note. It’s a total eargasm that only makes the wait for more new music even more torturous.

  8. Lynn says:

Pre-existing fans, new-found fans, and potential fans just want to hear good music from Adam. Its obvious what “Outlaws of Love” is all about. I just hope he doesn’t sink his album with a whole bunch of “message” music that will not sell.

    • Jill says:

Lynn, all of Adam’s music has always had a “message”, and he’s always taken the time to discuss the lyrics in his interviews and in the introductions to his performances. The best songs always marry memorable melodies with thoughtful lyrics. As for selling, Adam’s first CD sold over 800,000 copies in the US, and way over 1 million worldwide. And his singles have also done extremely well, especially WWFM, which is arguably a song with a message, and for which he earned a Grammy nomination.
In terms of “Outlaws of Love”, I’d suggest that the lyrics work on many levels, and are open to many different interpretations. I wouldn’t jump to label it so quickly.

Lynn, Your comment about you hope he doesn’t sink his album with a whole bunch of message music that will not sell – well I’ve got news for you this is what the majority of music lovers have been starving for many years. I’m sick of the bubblegum pop sounding songs along with the rap crappy songs. it doesn’t sound like you are really an Adam fan or you wouldn’t be so negative. You didn’t mention one word about the song did you. This makes me wonder about your motives for posting here.

        • Lynn says:

SharonS.: My only motive is for Adam to be as successful as possible. fYI: my honest opinions are motivated by honesty–nothing more. Just because you don’t agree with me doesn’t make me negative. You say I didn’t mention “one word” about the song. Really? My opinion is based on my having listened to every word in the song. I am anxious for his new album. I’d feel a little silly if anyone saw my web search history and saw how much of it involves looking for any news about Adam and what he’s doing and how his album is shaping up. In the meantime, I have memories from five GNT concerts and countless AML downloads and other AML guilty pleasure treasures to hold me until then. Gee, I guess that makes me a fan.

          • SharonS says:

Thank goodness Adam doesn’t have more fans like you Lynn. Your comments were definitely geared toward a homophobic meaning. Anyone reading your comment gets same message from you.

YOWZA…that is one heck of a voice…..sheetz…….but that song makes me tear up….love it..

  10. Jadalee says:

Adam we like you AS ROCK AS YOU CAN GO. I know you don’t want rock anymore, can you PLEASE be so kind as TRY FOR US ??!! At least 2-3 rock songs on your new album. The rest, make them what ever you want : pop, fusion of any kind……..

ADAM I a a TRUE registered GLAMBERT since Idol, I KNOW WHAT YOUR FANS LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish you all the best ever good luck with your new album! PLEASE ROCK IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Nimbus says:

No you don’t know what ALL ADAM’S FANS LIKE, SORRY! I’ve been a fan for 2 years now and don’t think he should go classic rock at all, it’s too retro. I’m trusting that he will create a great contemporary sound, mixing it all up – but modern and relevant!!

And BY THE WAY TJ, there’s a better vid, better sound here, among others: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fw7VRil66Cs PLEASE WATCH THIS ONE RATHER, it’s also full HD 1080p or 720p

      • SharonS says:

I agree Jadalee doesn’t know what Glamberts want. Anyone who knows music should understand that Classic Rock era is over and should be left at that. I love classic rock music and still have a huge collection of RS, LedZ, etc. If that is the sound I want to hear I just slip a CD into my player and enjoy. I don’t want a newer version of what is already a masterpiece and should not be changed or updated. Adam is the new era of music despite the fact some labels and music industry want to steer us towards rap and bubblegum pop music. Pop music just means what is popular. If radio and music power houses would stop telling teens what is good music they might be interested in quality music and go singers like Adam, Ryan Tedder, John Legend, etc. I can’t even listen to radio any more it’s so awful.

  11. Nay says:

Just Beautiful. Love this song, amazing vocal range. This little taste just leaves wanting more, cannot wait for Adam’s new album!

  12. Sarah says:

So many people in this world telling others what they want, who they want you to be! Thank you Adam for this heartfelt song, it’s heart wrenching, and thank you for always giving us what we want, YOU!!!

  13. Hanna says:

I love Adam and am waiting for his new music impatiently.Didn’t like the song, forgettable and boring.I’m o’key with message, love his voice but he should not write the music. There are better heads for that and Adam should be singing other writer’s stuff. If there are more of this kind songs on upcoming album, I won’t buy it.

    • Lynn says:

Yes Hanna, that’s my concern too. Of course, his voice is good but the song isn’t anything we haven’t heard before. He can’t send any better message than he already does in “Aftermath.” This second album is very important. He needs to make good business decisions. I want it to be a hot seller right out of the gate. I don’t want him to have to tour the entire world just to sell 800,000 copies. I want him to sell that many in the first month’s release.

  14. Lauriellen says:

I love the song. The tune was in my head after listening to it only once. Adam is amazing in every way.

  15. Idespair says:

Too bad the Quebecois don’t like him, LOL, they cheer every time he opens his mouth. I wish they’d SHUT UP. I could barely hear the song.

  16. Hanna says:

Lynn, you do not need to explain yourself to likes of Sharon. We all are fans of Adam otherwise we wouldn’t bother to comment. If Adam does more of this kind pieces, he’ll go nowhere,it’s simple like that.We all know what he is capable of doing and hearing this”message” crap doesn’t sell with me.It looks to me that some people do not have musical ear and I don’t care about their voices.Just listen people to John Lennon.Besides strong message in every of his songs, the music is out of this world, no matter he sang ballad or rock. But he was the genius with the notes, Adam is not and he should stay away from writing the music. And I can’t stand “Aftermath”either.

  17. SoozinCA says:

It is rather condescending to state that people who love this song and are deeply touched by it don’t have a musical ear. Music is one of the most subjective things in the world and just because you like one thing and I like another doesn’t mean that your “musical ear” is better than mine, or vice versa. If you don’t like what Adam puts on his new CD then don’t buy it but don’t presume because you don’t like it means anything more than that. I am certain that it isn’t going to be all ballads, all personal messages, or all any one thing because that’s not who he is. I don’t take issue with people saying this may not appeal to them, but making out that those who like it must have inferior ability to discern what is good music, with that I do take issue.
