It’s a certified r&b hit but Kelly Rowland hasn’t done many live performances of her smash single, Motivation. Now that her new album is in stores, she’s going to change that.
Kelly dropped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for a performance the sexy single wearing a hot fitted pants suit. Kelly and her dancers strutted their collective stuff on the stage, stopping mid-way through for a dancer break. The dancing continued as Kelly announced “hold on, we ain’t done yet.” The broke into another dance break before wrapping the performance.
Motivation is the first single taken from Kelly’s newly released third album, Here I Am. Although the set is Kelly’s third solo project, it is her first for her new label home, Universal Republic. The album is expected to debut at No. 2 on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart off the strength of 70-75k copies sold. To support the project, Rowland plans to hit the road with fellow pop/r&b singer Chris Brown starting in September.

Ms. Kelly Rowland slayed! She is an awesome performer. Even with a slightly horse voice, she tore that shit up! The crowd was loving her. This is real talent right here. Rihanna, Kesha, Britney, and Jennifer Lopez could never sing and dance their ass off at the same time. I’m so proud of her!
I think this was a great performance for Kelly. I think she was a little horse due to all of the interviewing she has been doing in the last couple of days. I look forward to more performances.
