“Yes I’m a singer so if this mixtape doesn’t reach your quota for hip hop! Simply don’t listen,” Chris Brown tweeted after announcing he would be releasing a hip-hop mixtape. And with that disclaimer, Brown has made good on his promise and has released Boy In Detention.
The hip-hop-geared set features Breezy flexing his ever-growing rap muscle on 21 tracks, many featuring some of his favorite frequent collaborators, like Kevin “Kmac” McCall, Wiz Khalifa, David Banner, Seven, and Shawty Mane…or as millions of lusting teen girls know him, Justin Bieber. And, surprise surprise! It’s not all rap. Breezy gets his croon on for a few songs as well.
Boy In Detention is the R&B/pop star’s fourth mixtape. It joins previously free releases In My Zone, Fan of a Fan, a joint mixtape with Young Money rapper Tyga, and In My Zone 2.
