“Nothing feels like this place, never,” Rihanna told the audience at her sold-out LOUD tour concert stop in her home country of Barbados on Friday night (August 5).
The night marked the international superstar’s premiere performance in the nation that started it all, where about 25,000 concert-goers finally got to get down and show some Bajan pride with their princess live and in the flesh at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.
During the concert, which greatly resembled the recently-wrapped North American leg of the tour, Rihanna thanked her fellow countrymen and women for their unconditional love and support, reminding them that merely two streets from the Oval, where she grew up, is where it all began.
What made the night even more special, besides Rihanna performing a full concert in Barbados for the first time, was the announcement that her country will be shared with the rest of the world, as the night included a taping of the video for her latest single, “Cheers.”
