Lady GaGa To Open 2011 MTV Video Music Awards

Little monsters tuning into this year’s MTV Video Music Awards will be able to put their paws up pretty early on in the night: Lady GaGa has been tapped to open the awards show.

GaGa–well, her little monsters–made the announcement during a webcast on MTV First: Lady GaGa. “It means the world to me,” Lady GaGa said of being the 2011 opener. “I just feel really blessed every day. I have the most amazing fans.”

GaGa will be in good company. Other performs for the 2011 VMAs include Bruno MarsAdeleChris BrownLil Wayne and more.

This will be Lady GaGa’s second time performing for MTV’s big awards show. Her first time performing on the show was in 2009 when she performed her monster smash, Paparazzi, complete with a bloody onstage ending.

The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards take place on Sunday, August 28 in Los Angeles, CA and will air on MTV.
