A powerful thunder storm threatened to wash out Beyoncé‘s final concert in a four-night stint at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Friday (August 19), but even though many of the fans who waited for hours in line outside of the venue ended up drenched, nothing could ruin seeing the pop queen reign in such an intimate setting.
And reign she did. The 90-minute spectacular played out in a musical trip down memory lane that chronicled her pre-diva status rise to fame, her pop dominance, becoming a movie star, finding love with Jay-Z, and everything that led to her feeling free enough to release her most heartfelt, and her best album yet, 4, which she performed almost in its entirety (she left out “Start Over”).
