Even though one of the top trending topics on Twitter, #ThingsBetterThanTheCarterIV, suggests Lil Wayne‘s long-overdue album, Tha Carter IV, is beneath things like Rick Ross in a speedo and Kidz Bop, Vol. 4, Weezy is on his way to having the last laugh — and one of the year’s biggest debut sales weeks.

According to Billboard, the rapper’s new set, released on August 29, could debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling an astonishing 700,000 – 850,000 copies in its first week out.

The hefty sum would place Tha Carter IV in second place for the biggest opening sales week for an album this year, behind Lady Gaga‘s Born This Way with 1.11 million copies, and crushing the current second place holder, Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s joint spectacular, Watch The Throne, which sold 436,000 copies.

Of course, a huge opening week is nothing new for Lil Wayne. In 2008, his Tha Carter III started at the top of the summit with a whopping 1.01 million copies.
