Singer/songwriter Bruno Mars serves up big vocals and seriously dramatic lyrics for his contribution to the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part One soundtrack on the official first single, It Will Rain.

If you ever leave me baby/Leave some morphine at my door/’Cause it would take a whole lot of medication to realize what we used to have/We don’t have it anymore,” Bruno sings as the song opens. The song grows even more melodramatic as the chorus arrives. “‘Cause there’ll be no sunlight, if I lose you baby/There’ll be no clear skies, if I lose you baby/And just like the clouds my eyes will do the same/If you walk away, every day it will rain.”

Overwhelming angst aside, the track is a beautiful piece of storytelling mixed with sensational vocals by Mars. It captures the essence of the movie perfectly which was Bruno’s goal. “The ‘Twilight’ movies for me (are) a love story,” he told Billboard.com in an interview. “But it’s a dark love story. And I think the best way to describe the song is: it’s the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up.”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part One original motion picture soundtrack will land in stores and online on November 8. The project will feature original songs by Christina PerriTheophilus LondonThe Belle Brigade and more.

That’s dramatic? LOL! Um, it is just boring with not so great vocals and not near dark enough for twilight! Who’s bright idea was it to get this guy on the soundtrack? Oh ya, money.

Love it….so twilight, can’t wait to see this movie.
