Back in July, Adam Lambert debuted a new song live at a concert in Quebec, titled “Outlaws Of Love,” a heartbreaking yet beautiful song that contains the lyrics, “Everywhere we go, we’re looking for the sun/Nowhere to grow old, we’re always on the run/They say we’ll rot in hell, but I don’t think we will/They’ve branded us enough/Outlaws of love.”
Since that day — actually, many months before — anxious Glamberts have been grabbing at every new piece of information about the glamazon’s forthcoming sophomore album. Adam answered their calls yesterday when he began tweeting lyrics from songs on the new set.
“I’m swingin off of my hinges, I’m cocked and I’m ready to go,” goes the first lyric he tweeted. He then followed up with two more, all from different songs. “All along, I tried to pretend it didn’t matter if I was alone…” and “Lost inside communication breakdown, better just read my lips. Comin’ in clearer when we get down. iceberg. Just the tip.”
Honesty seems to be the what ties all of the lyrics together, and that’s exactly the way Adam wants it. “This album is different in that [it] has a more serious tone,” Adam said in a recent interview with Us Weekly. “This album has a thread of honesty in it that is real and personal.”
Fans will no doubt grow even more anxious to hear the new music now that these lyrics are out, but they’re not alone. Adam is just as anxious and excited. “Grrr I am so excited for you all to hear these cuts!” he tweeted. “There’s biz & technical stuff to sort…I’m workin as fast as I can… Thank you all for being so patient. As soon as I know more – u will.”
Adam’s new album, the follow-up to his 2009 debut, For Your Entertainment, is currently due out in early 2012.
