Adam Lambert Reveals Lyrics From Songs On New Album

Back in July, Adam Lambert debuted a new song live at a concert in Quebec, titled “Outlaws Of Love,” a heartbreaking yet beautiful song that contains the lyrics, “Everywhere we go, we’re looking for the sun/Nowhere to grow old, we’re always on the run/They say we’ll rot in hell, but I don’t think we will/They’ve branded us enough/Outlaws of love.”

Since that day — actually, many months before — anxious Glamberts have been grabbing at every new piece of information about the glamazon’s forthcoming sophomore album. Adam answered their calls yesterday when he began tweeting lyrics from songs on the new set.

“I’m swingin off of my hinges, I’m cocked and I’m ready to go,” goes the first lyric he tweeted. He then followed up with two more, all from different songs. “All along, I tried to pretend it didn’t matter if I was alone…” and “Lost inside communication breakdown, better just read my lips. Comin’ in clearer when we get down. iceberg. Just the tip.”

Honesty seems to be the what ties all of the lyrics together, and that’s exactly the way Adam wants it. “This album is different in that [it] has a more serious tone,” Adam said in a recent interview with Us Weekly. “This album has a thread of honesty in it that is real and personal.”

Fans will no doubt grow even more anxious to hear the new music now that these lyrics are out, but they’re not alone. Adam is just as anxious and excited. “Grrr I am so excited for you all to hear these cuts!” he tweeted. “There’s biz & technical stuff to sort…I’m workin as fast as I can… Thank you all for being so patient. As soon as I know more – u will.”

Adam’s new album, the follow-up to his 2009 debut, For Your Entertainment, is currently due out in early 2012.

  1. Grrr, I WANT THIS MUSIC NOW!!! lol But no worries, the wait will be totally worth it! Those lyrics, LOVE THEM!!!

  2. OMG this just make me want Adam’s music even more! Can’t wait!!

  3. Those lyrics are not good. I hope the music that goes with them is better.

    • All Adams collaborators are raving about his music and working with him. One even stated that he has set the bar very high! I have no doubt about that! I am sure this will be a DREAM ALBUM. Adam has worked long and hard, attending to every detail , not rushed like the first, even though the first did so extremely well, this one will go stratospheric

    • Oh please tell us noble one, what-est did thou find wrong with the lyrics……..I thought they were wonderful and I’m a heck of a lot smarter that you are. You sound like an Adam hater that haunts these sites lately. Turn the computer off and go home, the library is about to close, and no you cannot sleep in the hall.

    • james m: its a shame that anyone who has a different opinion is called a hater. I agree with you. The lyrics I’ve heard from his songs so far are very ordinary.

      • There you are again with your old dirty hate, you are one clueless hater. I have seen your sorry comments here before, always the same, hate hate hate.

    • This is how silly it is to judge lyrics out of context:

“But he can’t be a man cause he doesn’t smoke”
“Streets are uneven when you’re down”

Both lines out of context are pretty meaningless and not particularly fantastic. But in reality you add the rest of the lyrics, the music, the voices and “Satisfaction” by the Stones, and “People Are Strange” by the Doors are great songs.

Adam will put his soul into his songs, that will bring them to life. Try to let the album at least be released before deciding it won’t be good :-)

  4. Jeezuz! I love Adam dearly, but those “lyrics” are excrement of the highest order. Outlaws of Love is pretty but all of the rest? Seriously, I will be amazed if the label allows him to release those songs. I say this with utmost sincerity, Adam, darling, please stick to what you do best, singing, and leave the songwriting to the professionals.

    • You are an Adam hater, and doesn’t it just gripe your gut that he is doing so well. You username says it all, trash, trash, trash.

    • Again, I totally agree. Who knows? Maybe that’s why he switched management because he and 19 weren’t on the same page about the stuff he wants on his next album. I feel sorry for fans who call other fans haters just because some of us can hear and think for ourselves. What I’ve heard from Adam so far for his second album simply will not sell (except to the narrow-minded members of his fan club).

      • Lynn you have no idea what you are talking about. Why did you come to this site and complain, YOU are the hater. Take your hate somewhere else, this is a no hate zone, and besides no one wants or cares about your opinion.

      • Mia Pia Zia says:

lolling @ you Lynn — What have you “heard” ? nothing. A few lyrics and your putting the guy in the grave. Be more obvious.

  5. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha…This IS a joke, right?

  6. You can’t judge the music by just the words. Think of some of the big hits on the radio–just write the lyrics down and without the music you would wonder how in the world they would work at all.
    Example:
From DJ Got Us Falling in Love Tonight

Honey got me swishin’ like a dreadlock
She don’t wrestle, but I got her in a headlock
Yabba dabba doo, make her bed rock
Mami on fire, pss, red hot
    Bada bing, bada boom
Mr. Worldwiide as I step in the room
I’m a hustler baby, but that you knew
And tonight it’s just me an you

I am sure you can come up with a lot of other examples, too.

  7. Some of you are really going to judge an entire song off of one line you don’t like? And without the music that comes with it!? I’m sorry, but to put it bluntly, that’s just stupid.
I’m going to trust what the people who have actually worked with him and heard the songs say.
    Can’t wait for this album!!!! :D :D :D

  8. We asked to hear his voice first and foremost, so hope that’s what we get. We are patiently waiting. Very anxious to hear new music. Sure we won’t be disappointed.

  9. Wow, I love the lyrics, Adam is so smart this stuff comes easy. This Album will be a big big seller, I cannot wait for it to hit.

  10. Hey James, WTF and slapmesilly, Saturday Night Live did a sketch about the three of you last night. Finally got to see what you guys look like. Check it out…called “The Comments Section” about internet trolls. BTW, Adam’s lyrics sound amazing.

  11. I for one cannot wait for new Adam music. The lyrics sounds interesting, but it really is hard to tell until it is put with music, but with Adam’s voice he can make anything sound great.

  12. All of you who are griping about the lyrics, all I have to say to is PLEASE JUST STOP. Have you heard some of the absolute crap that passes for lyrics in some of the songs these days? These sound downright intelligent compared to those!

    • These people complaining about the lyrics are not Adam fans. On almost every site there are those that do not like Adam that make disparaging remarks for what reason, I do not know. But I do know this, they are not Adam’s fans. Pay no attention they would not buy one of his CD’s anyway.

  13. adam-4-ever says:

There are so many MINDLESS songs on the radio today (like never before) I think adam’s lyrics are amazing! Can’t wait for his new album, with that VOICE it doesn’t matter what he sings- He’s in a different league all-together!

  14. The lyrics may not be the greatest, but I love hearing the range of his vocals. I will definitely buy the album. What ever happened to the November album release???

  15. Wait – isn’t this coming out in November now – http://adamlambertalbum.com ?
