When the European leg of Rihanna‘s LOUD Tour hit Oslo, Norway, two very special hometown guests showed up to lend her some support: Norwegian production duo Stargate.
The guys, Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, hold a special place in Rihanna’s heart, as they’ve worked with her since the beginning of her career, a fact RiRi states in the latest Countdown To Talk That Talk webisode. “We pretty much have been on this journey together since the beginning of my journey,” RiRi said backstage at the Oslo show. “They’ve worked on every album so far, and every time they keep getting better which helps make me better.”
As a refresher, the guys have worked with Rihanna on tracks like “Hate That I Love You,” “Don’t Stop The Music,” “Unfaithful,” “Take A Bow,” “Only Girl,” and “What’s My Name.” They’ve also got their hands on several songs on Rihanna’s new album, Talk That Talk, including the title-track, which features Jay-Z.
“The new album is gonna be sick,” Mikkel said. “I’m really proud of what we did. I’m really proud of what she did. I think we have some killers once again and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The backstage party in Oslo wasn’t all about new album chatter. RiRi also performed a cover of Bob Marley‘s “Is This Love,” a song she used to cover on her Good Girl Gone Bad tour.
