Boy, was it a tough day for American Idol season 10 contestants yesterday.
Runner-up Lauren Alaina found herself in an embarrassing situation as she flubbed the lyrics to the national anthem at the Detroit Lions VS Green Bay Packers Thanksgiving football game. Alaina’s performance started off well until she got to the “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming” line. Instead, she sang, “What so proudly we hailed through the twilight’s…” then paused to gather herself. But even with the bump in the road, Lauren recovered well and delivered the rest of the Star-Spangled Banner flub-free and with strong vocals.

“I’m not a robot. I have No excuses. I messed up,” Lauren tweeted following her performance. “You know what can ya do. At Least didn’t fall down again.”
Alaina’s Star-Spangled flub came after season 10 winner Scotty McCreery had a lip-sync fail at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade that morning. Scotty missed his cue to begin mouthing along with the recorded track of his new single, “The Trouble With Girl,” leaving the track to play for a few seconds before he joined in. (It’s worth noting that all of the parade performances were lip-synced, just not as poorly.)

That’s why it’s important to pick the right singer to sing the SSB. From now on, please no more Christina Aguilerra; Cindy Lauper; Roseanne Barr and now this Lauren Alaina. What a mess. It was embarassing. Scotty McCreeny flubbed a lip sync, Lauren Alaina missed NA lyrics ……..these two top American Idol’s 10 are a joke or what? Even Scotty McCreeny’s performance when he sang SSB was so dull and boring, like a tired 75 years old man singing it. Seriously. Sorry!!!! just my opinion!!!!
