Kanye West Says ‘Album Of The Year’ Grammy Snub Is His Fault

Don’t call it a snub. Kanye West actually thinks his lack of an Album of the Year nomination at the 54th annual Grammy Awards is his fault for making voters choose between his critically-acclaimed stunner, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and the equally-praised Watch The Throne, his joint album with Jay-Z. Or at least that’s what he told the crowd at his Watch The Throne tour concert stop in his hometown of Chicago last night.

“Everybody came to me last night like, ‘Congratulations,’ ’cause you know I’m leading the…had the most Grammy nominations once again,” Kanye said. “But you know people focus, they said, ‘You ain’t have Album of the Year or Record of the Year.’ But I’ve figured out though, that’s my fault for dropping Watch The Throne and Dark Fantasy the same year. I should have just spaced it out just a little bit more. But don’t worry ’cause me and Hov gon’ keep on making sh*t.”

Though an AOTY nod eluded him, Kanye is up for seven awards, including one of the big three, Song of the Year, for “All Of The Lights.” Both MBDTF and Watch The Throne are up for a Best Rap Album Grammy.
