Katy Perry
“This year has been very intense,” Katy Perry told Barbara Walters as she sat down for an interview as one of the 10 most fascinating people of 2011. “[I'm] just kind of like holding on to the rocket for dear life, hoping that I don’t get bucked off.”
2011 has indeed been a fun-filled and record-breaking year for the pop singer. She’s released chart-topping single after chart-topping single, helping her to tie Michael Jackson‘s Billboard Hot 100 singles record and she’s been performing around the world on her hugely successful California Dreams World Tour. No wonder she landed a spot on Barbara Walters’ annual ’10 Most Fascinating People’ special.

During her interview on the show, she talked about her childhood, growing up in a super strict religious household and the struggle she faced early on in her music career. Talk also turned to her marriage with comedian and actor Russel Brand and whether the pair would like to have children. “Yes, of course,” she said when asked if she’d like to have kids one day. “I think that is one of the biggest reasons why you do get married.”
