Demi Lovato has been chosen.
The 19-year-old singer/actress has been announced as a performer for the People’s Choice Awards 2012, producers announced today.
“Demi is a brilliant performer, a strong role model and a true fan favorite,” Zap2it quotes executive producer Mark Burnett as saying in a press release. “We’re thrilled to have her on board for the People’s Choice Awards and look forward to a truly electrifying performance.”
Along with her performance, Demi will vie for Favorite Pop Artist Award against Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
As previously reported, Perry leads the PCAs 2012 nominees with seven nods. Including multiple nods in the music categories, Perry also received nominations in the TV and movie genres. Her voice-over work as Smurfette in the new Smurfs 3D movie is being recognized in the Favorite Animated Movie Voice category, and she also gets love for her role on How I Met Your Mother in Favorite TV Guest Star.
