Florence Welch
VH1 had the best intention when they gathered a few stars to pay tribute to the late Amy Winehouse at their ‘VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul’ event. It’s just a real shame the actual performance didn’t quite come together.
After an introduction by rapper and Winehouse’s friend Nas, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings took the stage to start Amy’s hit You Know I’m No Good. Sharon sounded perfectly fine (although some of the lyrics sounded questionable) but things took a turn for the worse when singer Wanda Jackson appeared on stage. Suffering from apparent technical difficulties (you can hear her saying she couldn’t hear), she missed her cue to start the second verse. Sharon then tried to help her restart but this was just not a good song for Jackson’s voice.

Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine appeared on stage when the first part of the performance (finally) wrapped to get things back on track with Back To Black.
