They might be in the middle of a bitter rap feud but Common is still a fan of Drake‘s music. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Common praises his opponents lyrical skills, saying: “I think he makes good music.”
“He’s definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs,” Common told the magazine. “I like his music.”
The two rappers have been famously trading jabs at each other with the beef really heating up when Drake released a venomous verse seemingly about the Chicago-born rapper on the Rick Ross track, “Stay Schemin’.” Things got even messier when Common released his reply on the “Stay Schemin’” remix, spewing out lyrics like “I’m taking too long with this amateur guy/You ain’t wettin’ nobody, n*gga/You Canada Dry.”
The feud has since gone quiet, leaving fans to wonder if it’s all over. The answer? Possibly.
“I feel like I said what I had to say, and I’m just going to let it be at that point,” Common says. “Now, if something else happens, then I’ll just have to act accordingly. But right now, I feel like, man, I said what I needed to say about this situation on record.”
