Kelly Clarkson
Football’s biggest night got started in the right way with a little help from pop singer/songwriter Kelly Clarkson. The first ever American Idol kicked off Super Bowl XLVI: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots with a performance of the National Anthem.
Kelly, dressed in a short-sleeved form fitting black dress, performed a simply stunning rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. She was joined by the Indianapolis Children’s Choir for the performance, adding a special touch to the appearance.
Later in the night, the iconic Madonna will take the stage as the Super Bowl halftime act. She’ll be joined by Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and more for her big performance. Until then, watch Kelly give a near-flawless performance of the National Anthem below:
Those Idols can sing. They can definately sing the National Anthem better than almost any artist any genre. Kelly C. and Carrie Underwood are the best though. They are very talented artists.
