Video: Adele Talks “Hard” Recovery From Throat Surgery In ’60 Minutes’ Interview Preview

Adele - CBS

Adele will perform on stage for the first time since undergoing a successful surgery to treat a vocal cord hemorrhage back in November at the 54th annual Grammy Awards this Sunday. Before her Grammy performance airs live, the British soul singer will open up about how hard recovering from the surgery was for her in an interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes.

A clip of the interview can be seen now, and in it, Adele admits recovery was tough because she wasn’t allow to do something show loves to do for quite some time: talk. But she found ways to work around the doctor’s order. “I had a notepad and I also had an application on my phone,” Adele said. “You type the words into it and then it speaks it. The great thing is I love to swear — most of them you can’t swear — but I found this one app where you can swear, so I’m still really getting my point across.”

60 Minutes airs Sunday, February 12 at 7PM EST on CBS, right before the Grammys at 8PM.
