The 54th annual Grammy awards are underway and although everyone’s minds seem to be on the tragic passing of the iconic singer Whitney Houston, awards show host LL Cool J and the performers are trying their best to lift everyone’s spirits by declaring the night a celebration of music.
“Tonight, we celebrating music! Tonight we’re celebrating the beautiful Ms. Whitney Houston! So get off your rich asses and let’s have some fun,” Bruno Mars shouted to the crowd before launching into a James Brown-inspired dance break during his performance of “Runaway Baby.” His stage setup was very old-school and Bruno displayed some fantastic showmanship and style. It was a fun and upbeat way to get the show moving.
Runaway Baby is taken from Bruno Mars’ Grammy-nominated album, Doo-wops & Hooligans. The album features the smash hits Just The Way You Are and Grenade. Watch the performance below:
