The 54th annual Grammy awards turned into the Rihanna and Coldplay show for a moment as the superstars took the stage to perform solo and together.
Rihanna started off the performance with a luscious stripped back intro to her smash single, “We Found Love.” After dramatically dropping to the ground, RiRi was joined by a bevy of dancers as the beat picked up.
After Rihanna danced and sang her face off, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin appeared on stage and started the band’s duet with the pop princess, “Princess Of China.” Rihanna, clearly a little winded from her high energy set, joined Martin and the pair sang beautifully together. Ri exited the stage and Coldplay had their moment to rule. Chris sat down at the piano and the band launched into “Paradise” while the glowing and colorful lights associated with the “Mylo Xyloto” era splashed across the backdrop.
“We Found Love” appears on Rihanna’s latest album, “Talk That Talk,” while both “Princess of China” and “Paradise” are lifted from Coldplay’s “Mylo Xyloto.” Watch the performance below:
