Video: Taylor Swift Talks “Mean,” Being “Stupid” About Love, More On ‘Leno’

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift paid a visit to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and gave another one of her incredibly sweet, down-to-earth, aw-shucks-adorable interviews. It came with a few revelations, some more surprising than others.

Surprising: “Mean” is not about Taylor being bullied as a kid, but being bullied by one acid-tongued critic who repeatedly gave her music bad reviews. “Nothing ruins your day more than getting a bad review,” Taylor told Jay. “And then there’s like the scathing review, which is kind of past constructive criticism and it’s more into ‘I hate you’ territory, which is mean!”

Not surprising, considering her current track record: Taylor isn’t so smart about love. “When I’m in love, I’m just stupid about it,” she said. “And I trust people, constantly! And I’m always like I’m  not gonna trust people anymore. I’m gonna be one of those dark, twisty girls who guys love because they’re all guarded and stuff. And then I just trust people again!”

Taylor also talked about her Vogue cover, how she wants to meet the love of her life, and her new movie, The Lorax.
