Katy Perry‘s coming to prime time with a guest starring role on Fox’s hit comedy, “Raising Hope.” The pop starlet has been tapped to play the part of “Rikki” in the March 6th episode titled “Single White Female.”

In the episode, Katy will play a prison attendant who happens to be a friend from actress Shannon Woodward‘s character Sabrina’s past, according to Entertainment Weekly. The casting of the chart-topper is sort of appropriate since Perry and Woodward are real-life BFFs.

“Shannon told me that her friend Katy was interested in doing an episode and I thought, why not? Let’s do your friend Katy a favor,” Greg Garcia, the show’s creator, said in a statement. “Then she came in and did a terrific job. And now people are telling me that Katy is also a singer. I sincerely hope that her appearance on the show helps her get her singing career off the ground.”

Katy’s singing career is, of course, going just fine. Her latest single, “Part of Me,” just topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart after selling an astonishing 411,000 copies.

This isn’t the first time Katy has flexed her acting muscles. Just last year, the singer appeared on an episode of CBS’ insanely popular comedy, “How I Met Your Mother,” and has hosted NBC’s iconic sketch comedy show, “Saturday Night Live.”
