X Factor USA is very close to closing a deal with Britney Spears that will make her a new judge on the popular reality singing show. The deal, if it pans out, will also make Britney the highest paid judge on reality television.
Sources close to the show and the negotiations tell E! that Spears will receive a whopping $15 million for her participation in the upcoming second season of the US edition of The X Factor. “Both camps were back and forth on the money but now they have finally come to agreement on the fee,” the insider told E!.”That was the big sticking point and now, thankfully, it’s been sorted. All they need to do now is work out the smaller points. The fact the money is now set, means that there is nothing stopping this from becoming a reality.”
Not only will Britney be joining the show but her future husband, Jason Trawick, will as well. Another source reveals that Spears’ fiance will be added as a show producer in the deal. “Jason is expected to be there every day Britney is on set. He is her rock and will help guide her through the process. He is the person she trusts the most,” they said.
If everything works out, Britney will fill one of the judging seats left vacant when Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were given the boot. A deal for a second judge has not been reached.
