Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” Tumbles In Second Week On Billboard Hot 100

That first-ever No. 1 single continues to slip further from Justin Bieber‘s grasp. In its second week on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Bieber’s new single, “Boyfriend,” takes a tumble. The Mike Posner-produced track slip from 2-5 this week. It debuted huge, selling 521,000 copies, but that sum fell to 295,000 copies this week, Billboard reports. Radio play is getting stronger, so maybe Bieber can claim No. 1 with it someday. Never say never, right?

Bieber will have to wait until songs by fun., Gotye, The Wanted, and One Direction cool off, though. Fun. claims its sixth week atop the chart with their Janelle Monae-featured earworm “We Are Young.” Gotye’s tune, “Somebody That I Used To Know,” featuring Kimbra, rises to No. 2 as the track continues its ascent into ubiquity, thanks to performances of the track on Glee and American Idol. British boybands The Wanted and One Direction are back-to-back at No. 3 and 4 with their catchy numbers “Glad You Came” and “What Makes Your Beautiful,” respectively.
