Carrie Underwood‘s new album, “Blown Away,” is expected to blow away the competition next week on the charts. That’s if early predictions pan out.
According to industry trade publication Hits Daily Double, Carrie’s new album will debut at the top of the charts with first week sales of around 275,000 to 295,000 copies sold. The predicted total for “Blown Away” isn’t that far away from the total its predecessor, “Play On,” achieved during its first week out. “Play On” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 318,000 copies sold when it was released in 2009.
To support the album, Carrie has been doing multiple promotional appearances. The latest stop on her whirlwind promotional blitz brought her to American Idol’s results show for a performance. Carrie will also embark on the “Blown Away” tour this fall. Tickets for the tour, which starts in September, will go on sale next week.
