Despite a flurry of reports claiming that Britney Spears‘ deal to judge the second season of The X Factor USA had been signed, it actually hasn’t. This according to notorious celebrity news site TMZ.
Sources close to Britney tell TMZ that the deal is “very close” to being signed but some of the final details are still being worked out. The source says that the XF USA contract should be signed “ in the next day or two,” giving Fox enough time to make the big announcement at the upcoming Upfronts in New York on Monday.
Once the ink dries on the contract, Britney will become the highest paid judge on reality television. The pop icon will reportedly receive a whopping $15 million in the deal–eclipsing Jennifer Lopez‘s $12 million for judging American Idol.
Britney will fill one of the judging seats left vacant when season one judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were given the boot. Teen singers Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus are reportedly being sought after to fill the other opening.
